The ideal individual exists only in textbooks. The term individual approach is often used, but it is doubly true in paediatric physiotherapy. The role of parents is crucial in the development of the child. Mgr. Veronika Studničná is a paediatric physiotherapist who works in a private physiotherapy centre in Prague with children from birth through to the age of 18. Mgr. Edita Knotková is a physiotherapist who is currently on parental leave, and specialises mainly in prevention, babies and mothers after birth and, last but not least, children of preschool age. Markéta Pechanová (née Škudrnová) has been a physiotherapist for almost 15 years. During the course of her career, she has worked at a number of hospitals, including the University Hospital in Plzeň or in Motol in Prague. She currently runs her own health-care facility in Klatovy, called Fyzioterapie Jinak (Physiotherapy Another Way). Veronika Kristková is the founder and lead physiotherapist of Fyzio Beskyd. Her practice has focused mainly on foot problems and gait disorders in children and adults. Edita Prošková graduated in physiotherapy at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of the Czech Technical University. It would be hard to find someone who understands feet better than MUDr. Miroslav Havrda. Originally a qualified neurologist, he is considered the father of Czech podiatry. He was the very first doctor to specialise in this field in the Czech Republic.
